East Meadow Cheddar by Plymouth Artisan Cheese is the ‘everyone’ cheese for your next gathering. Loved by both children and adults alike, this cheddar is both playful and elegant. It has a wonderful buttery texture and wild sweet notes with every bite. Yet, it has just enough tang in it to remind you you’re eating a cheddar, and each bite is certainly creamy.
Aged for only sixty days, this is the youngest cheddar offered by Plymouth Artisan Cheese. They still use the same raw milk sourced from a single, local herd cared for by farmers who use no antibiotics or additives. Plymouth also uses their traditional granular curd recipe from the 19th century and hand wax each square the way they did on the original Plymouth homestead. This is a bold, sunny-day cheddar ready for next family picnic.
Use East Meadow Cheddar as part of your next cheese or charcuterie board or as part of a great sandwich or salad. As we said, this is an ‘everyone’ cheese, so it’s fit for everyday use with children and adults. Slice it and eat it with toasted bread or water crackers, or just eat the slices by themselves. This is a mild cheddar that also has a wide range of cooking uses as well. Pair it with medium bodied, fruity wines. Beer drinkers can pair it with any traditional ale or lager.
Jesse Werner is a native Vermonter who had an idea of revitalizing the Plymouth Cheese Factory. He remodeled the factory and restored a lot of the original equipment to implement Old-World style recipes and techniques in his now world famous cheeses. The factory is still being revitalized, but the awards are rolling in every year.
