Bonne Bouche
An ash-ripened goat’s milk cheese, this creation of Vermont Creamery more than lives up to its French moniker meaning "good mouthful". Modeled after the fabulous chevres of the Loire Valley, this creamy and buttery American cheese has a bloomy rind that’s ripened with ash. Presented in a picturesque wooden box, it makes for a great gift or centerpiece to a cheese platter. A young cheese, it has a light, airy quality with citrusy notes and a tangy flavor, punctuated with notes of mushrooms and a spicy finish. Once at room temperature, Bonne Bouche is runny and unctuous, perfect to spread and spoon. Serve with Rose wine and sweet fruit.
One of the most famous diaries in the country, Vermont Creamery, helmed by Allison Hooper, specializes in producing French-style goat cheeses, using the freshest goat milk available and artisan techniques. Their selection is found in the best restaurants in the country, with chefs raving about the rich flavor and texture of their award winning chevres like creamy Bonne Bouche, unctuous Coupole and rich Cremont.
