100% Butter French Croissants - 1.5 oz, Unbaked

Croissants were first developed in the mid 1800’s in a Viennese bakery. They are part of a family of baked goods prepared by laminating the dough, a process in which dough and butter are layered and folded together to create thick flaky layers once baked. The texture is similar to puff pastries.

These authentic French croissants are made with 100% butter in the French style. They are frozen and unbaked. For freshest results, leave frozen until ready to bake. Once baked, they have a golden glow with a crusty exterior and a soft layered interior. They have a rich buttery taste and flaky texture.

Restaurants, cafés and home kitchens can benefit from having these easy to store and easy to bake croissants on hand. Pair them with fresh fruit and coffee for a simple European breakfast. For lunch, use them for sandwiches. For dessert or a snack, pair them with fresh fruit, nuts, cheese, or chocolate.

Absolutely delicious. Crunchy ends, soft gooey middle. Being Swiss they make my Sunday mornings “home”.

Product Questions And Answers

Q: Last time I got these I did let them rise and they doubled in size before I cooked them. Is that still and option? If so, how long and what temp?
A:

The croissants need to be baked while frozen, as they are pre-proofed. Please do not thaw them out before baking them. These are the instructions:

Place the frozen pastries on a lined baking pan. Do not proof pastries before baking, but bake them directly from freezer to oven. Bake the croissants in a preheated oven. If your oven is equipped with steam injection, inject 15 seconds of steam at the beginning of the baking cycle. Bake pastries at 400°F (200°C) for about 15 minutes for the mini and small pastries, 17 minutes for the medium and 19 minutes for the large or until a rich and deep golden color is attained. Remove pastries from oven. Allow to cool down for 15 minutes. Do not glaze the croissants.

Q: About what length are these? I'm looking for a mini/micro croissant, no more than 3" long.
A: These 1.5 oz croissants are 3 inches in lengh.

Q: How long good in freezer
A: The shelf life is 4 months kept frozen, tightly packaged as to not be exposed.
