Fresh Crottin Goat Cheese
Fresh Crottin is an American goat cheese made in the style of classic French chevre Crottin de Chavignol. Most who've tried that soft-ripened Loire Valley delicacy will attest to its deliciousness, and Fresh Crottin more than lives up to its namesake. Made from pasteurized goat's milk sourced from local family farms, it has a fresh milk flavor and soft, fluffy texture, while a special cocktail of yeast and mold lends it floral, citrusy afternotes.
The cheese's small size and delightful shape make it an excellent addition to a cheeseboard or a centerpiece to a salad or appetizer dish. Drizzle it with honey and pair with sweet figs for a truly indulgent treat.
Fresh Crottin is made by Vermont Creamery, an artisan cheese company founded by Allison Hooper and Bob Reese. After starting out in the 1980s with a delicious fresh chevre, they haven't stopped expanding since, and with more than 100 national and international awards, they've conjured some of the most revered and delicious cheeses in America, perfect for home cooks and professional chefs alike.
