Made from the finest of Spanish sherry wines, this extra aged Vinagre de Jerez Reserva has been aged for 50 years in oak barrels, developing a warm, full-bodied flavor that is incomparable. A: This type of sediment in vinegar is known as "mother of vinegar". While not appetizing in appearance, it is completely harmless and actually considered healthy, as it contains all the minerals, enzymes, amino acids, and vitamins associated vinegar.
The "Mother of vinegar" can be strained out and thrown away ; you can use a coffee filter as it is easier that way. Or you can use it instead to create your own vinegar by transferring the mother into a thick jar with a lid where you can any leftover wine to make your own vinegar.
