Tiramisu

Tiramisu is an Italian dessert first prepared in the 1960’s comprised of sponge cake or ladyfingers soaked in espresso or a rich liquor like amaretto, mascarpone creme or Italian custard, and espresso powder. Similar to Zuppa Inglese, a layered dessert of custard and sponge cake popular in Italy, tiramisu has no rigidly defined recipe. Rather it has a collection of guiding characteristics that pastry chefs enjoy experimenting with.

Galaxy Desserts Tiramisu has decadent layers of sweet moist cake soaked in coffee and rich creamy custard, artfully capped by eye-opening espresso powder. Pair it with zabaglione and a cannoli for a gourmet Italian dessert tray. Or serve it with a small espresso, or an espresso digestif at the end of a hearty meal.

Tiramisu should arrive frozen and be kept frozen until day of serving. At least two hours before serving, remove Tiramisu from freezer and place on plate. Remove plastic protective sleeve.

Dessert has a shelf life of 12 months if kept frozen. Once thawed, tiramisu should be kept refrigerated and eaten within 5-7 days.
