Fresh Black Winter Perigord Truffle from Italy, Extra Choice
We bring our fresh black winter truffles - tuber melanosporum vitt - every week from Europe, during the season, which runs from November to March, peaking during December - and just in time for those fabulous Holiday truffle recipes! The Perigord truffle is known as the Black Diamond, the gem of the culinary world, delivering a luxuriously intense earthy flavor and pungent fragrance that envelops a dish. Marked "Extra Choice", these truffles are perfectly round, which makes for even slices and less waste. It grows deep under the soil, in a symbiotic relationship with the roots of hardwood trees, and therefore it's not grown, but found, or hunted by super-sensitive dogs, making them incredibly rare and hard to find. Our fresh truffles are available to buy online, and are delivered as soon as they arrive from Italy to you.
Instructions for use and storage: Don't cook for long periods of time or over excessive heat. Shave over dishes at the end of the preparation or when plating. The heat from your dish will bring out the aroma and flavor of the truffle. Store in the refrigerator wrapped in a paper towel.
