De Cecco Pasta - Lasagna - no. 1

De Cecco's Lasagna #1 is an exceptionally large lasagna type with a curled ribbon edge on both sides. It originates from the Campania region of Southern Italy. Like all curled edge pastas, the curled and the smooth part cook differently. The curled part is also meant to hold more sauce on the lasagna. De Cecco's Lasagna is especially wonderful with Neapolitan Ragu sauces, ricotta, and any sauce with meat or game. The difference between De Cecco's Italian artisan pasta and your regular supermarket variety is…well, EVERYTHING. It's the quality and care put into it's production, the full flavors, the fresh ingredients. De Cecco's pasta is bronze-drawn and slowly dried, creating a flavorful pasta that is always al dente.

Product Questions And Answers

Q: I'm always looking for high quality ingredients. I intend to make 2 large lasagna's this weekend. I'm not confident I understand the cooking instructions on the DeCecco Lasagne No. 1 packaging. Are the saying that the cooking time for an entire 3 tierd Lasagna is only 20 minutes? That would be impossible to heat all the ingredients through. Can you help me or reccommend what you feel is a supreior tasting lasagna noodle? Thank you very much.
A: The recommended cooking time is approximately 24 minutes raw in the oven or boiled in water for 4 minutes and then baked in the oven for further 20 minutes.

Q: can these lasagne noodles be put in a baking dish 'unboiled'? with cheese, etc.? are these noodles considered no boil noodles?
A: The directions on the box indicate that the Lasagna Pasta can be used both raw and boiled. However, you will get a better texture if you boil it for 4-6 minutes before using it in your dish.
